Expat Life & Life Transitions
Moving to a new country and adapting to a different cultural environment can bring unexpected emotional challenges. Counselling can provide support with relocation stress, homesickness, cultural adjustment, career changes and other life transitions.
Anxiety & Stress
Persistent worry, overthinking, inner tension or feeling overwhelmed can make everyday life difficult. We can explore factors contributing to your stress and consider ways of responding that may be more helpful.
Self-Esteem & Boundaries
Self-doubt, excessive self-criticism or difficulties setting boundaries can affect both your personal and professional life. Counselling can help you develop a more realistic and accepting relationship with yourself and become more aware of your own needs.
Relationship Difficulties
Communication problems, recurring conflicts or familiar patterns in relationships can sometimes be difficult to understand on our own. We can explore these patterns and consider different ways of relating to yourself and others.
Self-Awareness & Personal Development
You do not need to be in a crisis to seek psychological support. Counselling can also be an opportunity to better understand your emotions, thoughts and recurring patterns, and to develop greater awareness of how you relate to yourself and others.
I am an English-speaking psychologist based in Budapest, providing psychological counselling for adults in English, both in person and online. I have a Master’s degree in Adult Clinical and Health Psychology from Károli Gáspár Reformed University, Budapest.
Before committing to psychology, I earned a Master’s degree in Translation and Interpreting (English/German) from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. My background in translation and interpreting has given me a particular sensitivity to language, cultural differences and the nuances of communication.
I work under regular professional supervision and have more than six years of personal experience in individual and group psychotherapy.
My approach is informed by psychodynamic principles, including an interest in how earlier experiences and relationships may influence present patterns of thinking, feeling and relating.
I also draw on mindfulness-informed principles, particularly developing awareness of present-moment thoughts, emotions, bodily experiences and automatic reactions. This kind of awareness can create more space between an experience and our habitual response to it.
I view psychological well-being from a biopsychosocial-spiritual perspective, taking into account the interaction between physical well-being, emotions, thoughts, relationships and the broader meaning we give to our lives.
I place particular importance on creating a safe, accepting and non-judgmental environment, while also being willing to explore less conscious patterns and blind spots when this can support personal growth.
The aim is not to become a perfect version of yourself, but to develop a more realistic understanding of yourself and greater freedom in how you respond to situations.

Psychological counselling focuses on personal development, life stressors, self-awareness and general life difficulties. It is not psychotherapy.
If you are experiencing a severe or diagnosed mental health condition or require intensive psychological treatment, I recommend consulting a clinical psychologist or psychotherapist. I can help direct you towards an appropriate specialist if needed.
If you are looking for an English-speaking psychologist in Budapest and would like to discuss whether counselling could be helpful for you, feel free to get in touch by phone or email.

The first session is an initial consultation – an opportunity to discuss what brings you to counselling, ask any questions you may have, and explore whether we could work well together.
The initial consultation does not commit you to continuing counselling. It is simply an opportunity to see whether further work would be appropriate.
